  1. This was more of a PR event for both guys rather than a true debate. Both have a B.S. Neither is well equipped to debate the science. And Ham is no Biblical scholar. He ignores the first two verses of the Bible.

    • I appreciate your comments. I would like folks who come to this website to express their views on these matters. I respect all views. Our slogan is “My Truth, Your Truth or Gods Truth” because I think in the end its Gods view that matters most. But it takes effort to find His view on some of these matters. Jesus said “Seek and You will find”. He didn’t say don’t bother seeking and you will find anyways. I find there is always some sort of reasoning for each one as they seek to find Truth. We all need to keep seeking.

Regarding PR, I agree in that there is so much subject matter that all the debaters could do is scratch the surface. Ken in particular wanted the viewers to find the details for his very high level answers by searching more deeply at His website. I didn’t see Bill Nye as offering answers so much as raising questions but perhaps I have blinders on to his side of the argument as I freely confess that I side with Young Earth Creation and Ken Ham’s ministry.

About your comment regarding ignoring the first two verses in Genesis, how do you handle verses 14 to 19?

Gen 1 – 14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the sky of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the sky of the heaven to give light upon the earth:” and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: He made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the sky of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

In my view God can do anything He wants since He is God, even if it is just to confound the wisdom of Men as His wisdom is greater than the wisdom of men. So I believe he purposely created the trees on the third day and then following that put the solar system in place including the sun and moon, just because He is God and wants to prove that we should not lean to our own understanding but to His understanding. I believe the source of light on days one to three was God Himself. My clue to this is that in Revelation it says at some future date He will do away with the sun, moon and stars and be the source of light again.

Rev 21 – 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did light it, and the Lamb is its lamp.

I think many ignore parts of the Bible in general and it depends on the theory people follow as to which parts they tend to overlook. More than once I have entered into a discussion regarding a doctrinal issue with someone who didn’t agree with my view and had it said to me that the verses I was quoting were not the ones they wished to use. My belief is that our searching isn’t over until we can figure out all the verses of scripture and how they fit together. We will never completely know until we are in heaven on many of these things.

I welcome your further comment on this or from any others out there that would like to offer their comments.
