The Signs of God’s Existence – Documentary

Whitefox_AvatarRay: I intend to put original material at our website. I say this because every now and then you will find it. If you go to the “TRAINING” toolbar above you will find some original video I have recorded in the “Creation vs Evolution” section and in the “Mens Breakfast Study”, “Revelation”, “Prophecy” and “Christian Muslim Debate” sections. Also if you troll enough here you will find some discussions with Brad Snell and myself. However there is so much good material on the net I have chosen to showcase some of the best available over the past several months.

I hope you will benefit from this latest video that I am showcasing in this video.

I am hoping others will contribute to the various topics at this website. Please like us, share us on Facebook, and leave your comments on the various topics.

How evolution is driving the clergy to atheism

Whitefox_AvatarRay: The following article at the Creation Ministries website, I find quite informative.

I came to the conclusion after several years of debating in the Atheist community that atheists are simply sceptics that have taken their scepticism to its logical conclusion of either Agnosticism or Atheism. The latter being the most hardened position. I would participate in an Atheist forum and often find myself outnumbered with responses. The ratio could be one Theist to 100 Atheists at times. It was too hard to keep up and wearisome. So I wrote my responses out as tracts and cut and pasted the tracts so I would have less work to do to answer questions. I would state my case and say for more info drill down to a link that I would provide which gave the full answer in the form of a downloadable tract. After awhile that was not enough so I searched the internet looking for other Christians to come help me to debate these folks. I found some Christian websites where discussions were being held and to my shock and horror the Christians were expressing doubts at their website forums. Their doubts were not to the extent of Agnosticism or Atheism but nevertheless how could I enlist the help of Christians who themselves were tainted by doubts?

As I researched this phenomenon further, I discovered that it is mostly the youth and young adults and even Bible school students that are what I would now call Sceptics. From that time forward I redirected my ministry to try to help “Sceptics” to not harden their hearts and become Atheists or Agnostics. I have for various reasons not had time to continue directly debating the Atheist community but I do spend most of my time pursuing goals to reach the sceptics we have among Christendom in the hopes to stop them from fully eating the cyanide pill they are nibbling on. I have also realized that perhaps by giving the “Truth that Matters” message that they be strengthened to assist in helping other Sceptics and even Atheists and Agnostics to turn them toward the Truth which is only found in the Lord Jesus Christ who said “I am the way the truth and the life.” Jesus also said “the Truth will set you free”. Perhaps by dispelling the lies of evolution and other lies that are prevalent today I can accomplish my original goal of reaching the Atheist community will be bolstered as well.  The Bible does warn also that at the end of the age that even the elect if possible will succumb to deception. There is much deception that sounds true but as you carefully investigate the truth claims and if you are willing as part of your searching for truth to consider the truth claims of the Lord Jesus Christ it is a promise that you will find answers. Jesus made a promise when he said “Seek and you will find.” I believe that promise. I hope you will experience that promise fulfilled in your life as I have.

Back to the article at hand. I hope you will follow its link and read the full article. I would encourage anyone visiting this website to offer your comments for discussion here as well.

Abandoning the Bible for ‘science’

by

Published: 24 April 2014 (GMT+10)
caughtinthepulpit

Atheists have fired another salvo in their ongoing assault on the Bible and, in particular, the truth of Genesis and its importance in the creation-evolution debate.

This time it involves the recent publication of Caught In The Pulpit: Leaving Belief Behind1 by Daniel Dennett and Linda LaScola.

And it should dispel any doubts in the minds of Christians about how focused atheists are on highlighting how accepting the evolutionary view of the world is a major factor in people abandoning their faith in the God of the Bible.

The book is an extension of Richard Dawkins’ ‘The Clergy Project’, which has been described as “a confidential online community for active and former professional clergy/religious leaders who do not hold supernatural beliefs”.2

If the evidence before your eyes doesn’t support a belief, you cannot will yourself to believe it anyway—Richard Dawkins

It chronicles the struggles of several mostly Christian church leaders who have become unbelievers, and is another sobering reminder of this not-so-surprising reality.

The authors seem to think they have exposed something that believers are unaware of and that it will bring down Christianity. What they see as a growing church exodus gives them that expectation.

The reality is that there always have been—and always will be—people who ‘lose their faith’, whether they occupy the pulpit or not. Consider, for example, Canadian (and Billy Graham colleague) Charles Templeton, whose spectacular fall from mass evangelist to unbeliever was in no small part linked to his doubts over Genesis.3

What the authors discovered from participants interviewed are several things Creation Ministries International and many thinking Christians have long pointed out. Sadly, many in the church:

  • have rejected the historicity of the Genesis account including that Adam and Eve were real people;
  • have accepted long ages and evolution as fact;
  • now deny Christ’s Deity.

And many seminaries now teach along all of those lines.

Boy and Girl Scouts Of Britain soon to welcome Atheists

851d0e812c8bfb4572e964c1233a50c7Brad: In a recent article in Metro news Dec 5,2012 atheists could be allowed to join Britain’s Boy and Girl Scouts!

According to the article, the Scout Association plans to draft an alternative oath specially for younger people with no references to God in the new reboy girl scoutsvised oath.

As well, younger people who do not have a faith are also welcome to join in this new revised oath especially geared to them.

The Scouts have offered versions referring to God to Muslim , Hindus, and other religions, but none so far to atheists.

According to Wayne Bulpitt ,the associations chief commissioner, he wanted the memberships opinion on this new revised oath, to keep them up to date with worldly views as well as to encourage memberships.

”However throughout their 105 year history the scouts continue to evolve so they will remain relevant to communities across the United Kingdom” quoted by Wayne Bulpitt.

Mr. Bulpitt also states they are a value based movement and religion will remain a key value!

Seems to this writer, how can the Scouts still have religion as a key value of the organization, when they welcome people who actually believe in nothing of religious value?cross

One thing though Mr Bulpitt states is that he plans to keep the oath to the queen

In this writers opinion ,the Scouts seem to throw out all of there values and ethics over their 105 year history for the sake of new members, members who will disband the organization because of their belief in nothing!

01ff5b7Ray: I was a scout earlier along my journey of life. When I was, there was little evidence of true Christianity in the organization. Although we did meet in an Anglican Church. The leaders cursed, drank, smoked and were not church attenders for the most part. There was no restriction on joining as evidenced by the leaders themselves. I imagine the oath to the queen and to God were performed without belief by many. The organization was originally started by the Anglican Church and always intended for atheists and others to join but it intended to influence them by befriending them in the name of Christ. And Atheists and the like were never turned away. (The oaths of allegiance were uttered by the atheists in those days when they were less militant against the organization and society in general.)

This is the fate of many Christian formed organizations which actually had there start as an attempt to encourage Christian friendships. However many of them downplayed their purpose so much that Christ was pretty much never mentioned. The Bible calls it putting your light under a bushel. What good is it if no one sees it?

Another such organization which succumbed was the Young Mans Christian Organization (YMCA). Today it is secular. It long ago gave up on basing its code of ethics on what would be called “Godly Morals”. The same will happen to the Boy Scouts. It already has happened on occasion as evidenced by the cases of child abuse reported.

As a side note the word in Noah Websters dictionary “MORALS” at one time gave the definition “pertaining to Godliness”.  That was expunged a hundred years ago when Merriam took over the dictionary. It might interest you to know that the Websters dictionary was written as an after thought by Noah in order to accompany the Websters Bible that he laboured many years prior to produce. The Webster Bible has since  disappeared but the now corrupted dictionary remains.

Devolution

RAY: Devolution is an interesting topic. In most cases things have wound downward not upward over time. For example the first Dinosaur (latin for “terrible lizard”) that was discovered was called Iguanodon as it was noted to be identical only more than 10x larger than todays Iguana. It is also this initial discovery that has caused the common belief that these terrible lizards had leather skin with scales. But the Iguanodon has seemingly devolved into todays Iguana. This is also the case for sharks which have devolved in size and plant species which have much smaller leaves than they did 6000 years ago. There is a scorpion that was found in an underground cavern system which appears to have lost its eyes over time. Wholly mammoths have lost their hair and are much smaller today (now called elephants). Humans that used to live up to 1000 years are now living only 80 years on average. The Neanderthal is an example of ancient humans that lived a long life. We know this because of their lengthened noses and their extra bone along the eyebrows. (It has been observed that noses never stop growing all of our lives and that extra bone accumulates above the eyebrows all of our lives.) Today no one lives long enough to develop the skull features of the Neanderthal. Opposite to what Darwin believed it appears that things are increasingly becoming reduced rather than improved over time.

This was in response to a very interesting article entitled Our sense of smell is “devolving” by Adam Benton

The Simplified King James Version. Why is Ray working on a version of the Bible that resembles the King James?

A few sentences were cut off in the video.

Ray: That is what proves the accuracy of the over 5000 Majority Texts and that is what disproves the two rogue Alexandrian documents known as the Alexandrian Text. The Alexandrian text should be avoided completely. These texts are also referred to as the Vaticanus (it was discovered in the Vatican) and and the Tischendorf (after the name of the one that discovered it in a monestory in the Sinai) it is also refered to as the Siniaticus. Some argue there are some other texts but these are the two almost complete texts from which we are now receiving most of our modern Bibles today.

One of the arguments for the need for newer bibles is the desire for English that is more up to todays standards. This is a legitimate argument and it is the reason that the KJV itself went through 5 revisions up to and including 1812, 1769 or 1762 depending on which version of the KJV you use. All of these versions are almost identical except for punctuations mostly.

I have chosen to stick with the KJV line of bible as the KJV is based on the Majority of the texts and not the alexandrian. There was a recent attempt to give us an updated language bible called the New King James Version (NKJV). The problem with this version however is that they too accepted some of the errors from the Tichendorf (Alexandrian).

Starting in around 2003 I took some courses in Greek and Hebrew so that I could better understand the original languages of the Bible. After that in 2009 I wrote a book entitled “Illumination or Illusion” which examined the various KJV and non-KJV versions which resulted in many people asking me which version of the Bible I would recommend for someone wanting to have a more modern Bible? Starting in 2010 I decided that I would experiment with producing an accurate modern version that I am calling the SKJV (Simplified King James Version).

We are now preparing this new version for use in “English as a Second Language” training by Missionaries overseas and eventually we hope to make it availble in regular book stores later on. The New Testament is complete and we have about a years worth of work to complete the Old Testament ahead of us.

If anyone would like to examine a portion of the SKJV, Look down the left side of the screen under FREEBIES for the downloadable copy of the Gospel of John. It includes the Bible introduction and some commentary. I hope to pick up on this topic again at a future time.

Brad: Well that concludes our show “Truth is what matters”. We hope to hear from our listeners. You may comment on any one of our programs. We look forward to hearing from you.

Christianity is Feared

Ray: I ran in the 2008 Election as a candidate for the CHP Party in the Newmarket/ Aurora riding. I feel I should disclose this when promoting something the leader has to say. Because this article touched on matters of truth as promoted by Christians I thought it was an article that is worthy of repeating in our Blog. As always I welcome the comments of others. Let us know what you think of Jim’s article.

By Jim Hnatiuk – Leader of the Christian Heritage Party CHP Communiqué Vol 19, No 38, Sept 18, 2012
www.chp.ca

There is a huge difference between the open, honest exchange of ideas in a public debate and the indoctrination of a society through the use of manipulative propaganda.

The free market exchange of ideas is considered a “given” in countries like Canada, the United States, Great Britain, and many other countries that have democracies grounded in the rule of law. This freedom is what most of us have grown up with, it’s what we have come to expect, and we may even think it absurd if anyone suggests that Canada allows any less.

In contrast, Sharia-governed countries—like Iran today—will imprison or sentence to death those speaking what they believe to be true. But then again, Iran is on the other side of the world—isn’t it?

The Soviet Union had a long history of state atheism, which suppressed public expression over wide areas of its influence.

The atheist Mexican state in 1917 enacted enormous restrictions targeting the Catholic Church; one prohibition was even meant to keep Catholics from being educated in their own religion. Could that ever happen in Canada?

In 1793, Anacharsis Cloots, an atheistic French politician, declared that “Reason” and “Truth” were “supremely intolerant.” Was Cloots saying that truth was wrong? How ridiculous! But, maybe not. Wasn’t it just a few years ago our Canadian Human Rights Commission ruled that “Truth is no defence?”

So who or what represents Truth? Well, we know that Christianity certainly does. Christianity is the baseline of truth and thus is feared worldwide by those who mean to control others. In fact, Christians are persecuted worldwide, not because they are intolerant of others, but rather because they represent truth, and they, and others who understand truth, want to see that it is expressed in the free market exchange of ideas. Those who want to control people feel that the truth must be suppressed; dictators seek control of all public media so that they can silence any truth which they find inconvenient or embarrassing. They want to get rid of the Christians and, for that matter, get rid of anyone who demonstrates sympathy or admiration for Judeo-Christian values and principles.

Those of us who represent the Christian Heritage Party of Canada are indeed walking the high road because CHP Canada believes that the truth must be heard and restored within the educational, judicial, and legislative systems of our nation. Our party is not intolerant, it is not radically “right wing;” rather it is right on!

Should people fear our biblical values? You bet! Those people who want to control and intimidate the citizens of Canada will naturally fear the revealing light of the truth. On the other hand, those who love the truth should welcome an honest public debate about the issues facing our nation today. Both groups, those who fear the truth and those who welcome the debate, deserve to know something: CHP Canada is growing, our members are organizing, and we who love the truth are coming to take back our wonderful nation and to defend the principles upon which it was founded, principles—as stated in the Preamble to Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms— “that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law.” Won’t you join your voice with ours?

The time to get into the battle is now. Join the Christian Heritage Party of Canada and make your stand for freedom, a glorious part of our blessed Christian heritage.

Can an Atheist experience a Changed Life?

RAY: This is an outside link that I think is very interesting. Alister McGrath in the video explains his decision to change from Atheism toward a belief in the God of the Bible as his worldview. He does not seem to have believed the Bible 100% however in that he still hangs on to some Evolution ideas. God does not require that we know everything first before coming to Him. Each of us is on a journey. But the Journey begins for the Christian when they trust Christ as their source of truth in their lives.

Atheist blogger Leah Libresco converts to Christianity
By Louis Casiano, msnbc.com

A prominent atheist blogger says she has converted to Christianity.
Follow @msnbc_us
Leah Libresco made the announcement on Monday on her Patheos blog, “Unequally Yoked.” The blog post, titled “This is my last post for the Patheos Atheist Portal,” details how Libresco came to her decision.
——————————————————————————–
She said she struggled with moral law, exploring where it comes from and what’s behind it. As an atheist, she states that friends told her that her philosophy was unsustainable.

“I was ready to admit that there were parts of Christianity and Catholicism that seemed like a pretty good match for the bits of my moral system that I was most sure of, while meanwhile my own philosophy was pretty kludged together and not particularly satisfactory,” she wrote.

She goes back to the night before Palm Sunday, where after a debate on religion she then had a discussion with a friend about morality.

After a back-and-forth where her friend asked her to make an argument about where moral law comes from, she couldn’t think of any. She then realized that it had to come from something like a person or being.

“I believed that the Moral Law wasn’t just a Platonic truth, abstract and distant. It turns out I actually believed it was some kind of Person, as well as Truth. And there was one religion that seemed like the most promising way to reach back to that living Truth,” she writes.

C.S. Lewis was a famous Atheist who changed to Christ
Another very famous Atheist that changed over to becoming a Christ follower was C.S.Lewis. I hope to invite the past president of the C.S. Lewis society of Toronto also past president of ministry called “the Shantymen”. Dr. Arthur Dixon to come and join us on an upcomming show to talk about the things that attract a person away from the Atheistic world view to the Christian world view. I would also like to ask Arthur about his experience in inner city mission work and in his various ministries that he has been involved in, including his current itinerant Pastor Ministry among the Christian Brethren of Ontario (Also called the Plymouth Brethren).

In the meantime if you turned from Atheism to Christ we would like to hear from you. Please add your comments to this topic and let us know what you experienced in switching over your worldview.

Religious Doctrine Whom Do You Follow?

BRAD: In this ever changing landscape of religious values, there is a  lot of room for interpretations of the bible.

How many versions are there and which one do you believe you should follow with the  most accurate translation?

We can start with the Old Testament, work our way into the New Testament, New International Version, King James Version, and a few more versions such as the New American Bible.

The other i would like to call break off religions, such as the Jehovah Witness also have their very own New World Translation version of the Bible.

As a matter of fact, in 1913 Baptist minister Rev. Ross of the James Street Baptist Church of Hamilton accused Watchtower founder Charles Taze Russell of preaching destructive doctrines which he did not have the credentials as a theologian or a scholar to preach to the newly formed Jehovah Witness.

Whether it is Scientology, the Raelian movement whom believe that soon we will be visited by entities from another galaxy, the Mormons, to just name a few, people succumb to the doctrine preached by the head of their chosen religious movement.

With religion recently getting a bad name and people not flocking to churches like they once did, as well as churches going up on the auction block, no wonder people are losing their religious values!

We must retain our core values  in not only religion, but in humanity as well and not let ourselves drown in the quicksand of deceit, lies and propaganda!

The way i look at it, the leaders of tomorrow and not coming from today, and it can be seen all around us.

With lack of communication, and no personal contact with people other than smartphones and texting, the youth of today somehow to me, are not going to lead us into the future.

Without personal contact and the ability to act independently, as well as no prior interest on what the country of Canada was based on, we are in a quagmire with our youth.

With so much violence in the media and bombarded by pics and news of Justin Beiber, John Travolta, Brad Pitt and so on, are people really interested in religion?

Somehow the leaders of Christianity have to develop a plan to get the masses back into the pews, and for people to start donating a small piece to the resurrection of religion once again!

RAY: Man was made with a God given void that he must fill. Pascal is the originator of that idea and I think he is right. Man looks for a religion to follow. God provides one that leads to eternal life. Man tends toward a religion that will lead to eternal regret according to the prophet Daniel. Technically according to the Bible everyone will exist forever but the quality of existance is described as one of either eternal life or eternal regret.

Daniel 12 - 2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall
awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. (KJV)

Man is so religious that even in the attempt to deny the religion that God has laid out he makes a religion out of science when he puts his trust in Evolution and its closely related Secular Humanism beliefs. Even the  modern belief in Psychology as offering answers is a religion that people follow. Atheists are also fighting to be recognized as a religion and they evangelize aggressively. And all the various cults such as Islam, Russelism, Mormanism, Scientology are all attempts to form a religion which is in oposition to the faith that God reveals about Himself which will lead to the everlasting life spoken of by the Prophet Daniel.

You raise a good point that there are many versions of the English Bible to choose from. There are actually over 160 English versions to choose from currently. However there is no point in discussing which Bible you should read if you don’t think you should read any version. That is where many people are at today.  In our upcomming program we should discuss why we should read the Bible in the first place and why it is a book that is true. What makes it different from every other book? I hope that we will in future programs also start to examine the quesiton of which version of the English Bible should be avoided and which ones are the ones you should be using.

I would like to encourage our readers to speak up and let us know what they are thinking.  Please post your comments on this post as to what kinds of topics you would like to see us cover related to our theme of “Truth is what matters”.

What Lies On The Other Side?

BRAD: This is my first post to our brand new site which soon will include video and soon live video steaming of our shows and your participation is quite welcome to our show.

As the opening title asks, What does really lay in the next dimension beyond our physical realm we call reality?

Religion as you know, plays a big part in death and our acceptance to recognize a bigger entity once we are either cremated or led to our underground dirt apartment.

It all depends your religious values and who or what you really believe in that somehow comforts you in the fleeting moments of life on this world.

Its hard to ask the question what atheists and skeptics really believe in as your final moments draw near and whether they do in fact feel some kind of remorse for things they did throughout their life.

As we explore the cosmos, planets and dimensions beyond our worldly existence there must be something out there bigger and more powerful than us!

Whatever your belief is im sure we can all together and admit one thing, we aren’t going to live forever, and when the end is near, and your friends and family surround you its good to know that maybe, something is behind that light that you never saw before!

RAY:  I think one of the things that others will like about our show is that Brad and I come from differing backgrounds and I am a little fussy with words. I just wanted to add to Brad’s post that according to the Judeao Christian view we all are going to live forever spiritually. However the quality of life is affected by whether the forever experience is called ETERNAL LIFE or it is called ETERNAL REGRET. I’ll save further comments for an actual show.

Jack Chick has a very intersting comic strip that discusses this matter
This was your life
