Finding my hope

Ray: God speaks to each one of us and tells us through nature, through sunshine, through special times in our lives and in dark times that He is present. He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother according to Proverbs 4.8. He is the still small voice and if we quietly listen we will hear Him as the Psalmist wrote. He says “Behold I stand at the door and knock. If any man hears My voice I will come in and sup with him and he with Me” (Rev 3.20). He is a hope when we realize that we have no hope. Ray: I really got confused in this conversation. Let me state unequivocally that the wise-men likely came from the east following a star which would have been due west of them. This lines up with the idea expressed in the song “We three kings of orient are” as east of Jerusalem are Asian peoples. However I have come to believe as discussed in this program that the wise-men actually were not from the orient but from Iran.

Bible Prophecy

Is the Christian Bible a source of absolute truth?

RAY: I wish to thank one of our readers for raising the very important question of why I would think that an archaic writing (the Christian Bible) is a source of truth? He felt that quoting from it does not prove anything about the topic of “Absolute Truth”.

I realize that this is a valid argument that has been raised which is worthy of addressing.

I tackled this question in the introduction pages of the SKJV (Simplified King James Version) Bible which we promote at our sister website www.bibledoor.com. I also addressed this topic in a more detailed manner in the introduction to another book that I authored called “Illumination or Illusion – A comparative Study of Newer Bible Versions”. Both of these books are available at www.bibledoor.com.
